http://www.cue.org/ - CUE is a great resource for teachers and has a local conference in the Spring. As part of membership ($40), you get a magazine and full access to the website. Both are filled with classroom tips, useful apps, programs and practices; troubleshooting tips are often included. ~ Micki Ward
Micki- I agree! I was able to attend CUE one year and it was great! Tons of information (almost too much) and lots of new ideas for the classroom. -Marissa Jimenez
I really learned a lot when we did the Hardware Inventory Presentation. I found it very informative to hear what and everyone is using in their classrooms.

I am struggling with the 80/20 project. Do I need to investigate on how I could use the 80/20 rule for myself, as a teacher, or am I investigating how to implement the 80/20 rule in regards to students? Also, am I focusing on the use of technology as a means to facilitate the 80/20 rule? I hope my questions make sense to someone, and thanks for any suggestions.
~Nora Prairie
Nora,
Two things that Eric mentioned last Saturday that helped narrow my focus for the 80/20 project: choose a topic that could benefit many teachers and include how your project's topic pertains to trouble-shooting. Hope this helps.
~Tracy Cauthen
Nora,
I've also been struggling with the 80/20 question. At this point, I am trying to work on a way that allows many students to post on a cloud tool as they build a year long project on the local history in my area. I am leaning toward a Wiki, as I see this one working, so my question would be--is my project the setting up and prepping of the wiki for the students? And as they may have learning or other disabilities, how do I help them use it with ease?--- Debbi
Debbie & Nora,
I was also a little unclear on the 80/20 assignment. I also like the idea of using a wiki for students and would like to incorporate that into the project. Hopefully next class we can all discuss the project more in depth and have everything cleared up.

added by Tracy Cauthen - I created a trouble-shooting corner (Coby is the name of the android devices our students received). This enabled students to be accountable for the care of their devices by showing step-by-step instructions on how to fix common issues. This was taken at the beginning of the school year and by June, it was twice the size!
Tracy--I like the bulletin board idea. I hung up the wireless password on multiple signs across the room, and then the kids could help each other. I also made a Coby notebook, where I put multiple copies of the toubleshooting guide, and any hints or info that came in emails. After awhile, I noteiced some kids grabbing the notebook and a buddy, when they needed help with something. Many times, I tried to help them, but it good to see some being more independent. I like your idea of having everything in one visual location.

I'm also stuck with the 80/20 project. Is there a written description of the assignment anywhere? Thanks!

Marissa--I am going to look at the video and syllabus again to get clarification. debbi
Debbi--- Pre-Cords at home. Laptop, ipad and other electronics.
Surge protector we aquired with pre-labelled slots for printer, CPU etc. All now apprppriately maked with colored flags. Same with the other surge protector that carries the chargers for iPads, ProBook and Mac Air, as well as phones. Again appropriately labelled with the adhesive flag.--Debbi J-H
Hi Everyone. I was searching the web and found some ways to better organize computer cords at home or in the classroom. I know some were previously mentioned in class but I found some examples for the visual learners:
I also found this cute idea of log in cards for students in the classroom for schools that require students to log in when using computers:

~80/20 Project: Trouble-Shooting when using Blabberize.com (Tracy Cauthen)
Ramona's Learning Management System is called Haiku. I created a Blabberize Trouble-Shooting page and placed it in my U.S. and World History Classes in Haiku. I included the Trouble-shooting PowerPoint, a rubric, and three sample projects. I shared the project grades (ranging from As-Cs) and explained how trouble-shooting, in some cases, effected the grade that each project received. I plan to add additional information on how to trouble-shoot if/when additional issues arise come fall.
